I haven’t been as good about writing about my juices as I have about plowing through the book, one juice at a time.
Thursday, I made #188 - beetles for dinner. I’m learning that beets and grapefruits have a severe commonality of overpowering everything else. The difference between the two is that I don’t mind beets overpowering everything, and I’d rather anything else overpower a grapefruit.
Friday, I made #139 - carrot crunch. Simple and subtle. Maybe too simple and too subtle. Carrots, ginger, celery.
This morning, #049 - tangy veggie was for breakfast. Next time, I’ll omit the grapefruit and stick to the sweet potato, parsnip and celery. Maybe add oranges instead. It was the worst juice I’ve made so far. And was the juice that helped me to admit to myself that I dislike grapefruit juice with anything else. I’ll chug a class of straight grapefruit juice, but I have yet to identify a vegetable or another fruit that complements it.
Tonight I’m making #303 - banana heaven for dessert and I’ve made #181 - super defender and #178 - green waldorf for tomorrow.
